Jeremy Rook: Departure day is very close

It seems ages since we packed the boats into the container at South Cerney Sailing club - luckily that day we had Chris Turner to help us. He is a director of Ovington Boats (wish they were building Albacores) and fills 2 containers a week so he knows the score and everything went smoothly. It's easy enough breaking things down for a container - I wonder how much difficulty we shall have putting them back together ( the nursery rhyme about Humpty-Dumpty comes to mind)

Last Sunday after Ian and Carla's wedding on the Saturday (they are both Lyme Albacore sailors) we had a very exciting sail in pretty marginal conditions - only 2 Albacores out - the rest were probably using hangovers after the reception as an excuse. (some of the younger guests were enthusiastically trying out the alcohol on offer) We managed a creditable second to daughter Mary ( OK out of 2 I know), but both Albacores stayed upright unlike most of the other classes. I hope that conditions at West River wont be quite so tough as my wife is crewing for me and we are not the heaviest of crews.(she will be pleased about that)

Both of us are self-employed (no paid holidays for us!) so we have been flogging hard to finish outstanding work before leaving
