Catchall: What a change from grey, gloomy rainy England

What a change from grey, gloomy rainy England - 85 plus Fahrenheit and sunny skies (thank the lord for air-conditioning)- and the natives are friendly too - even the much feared US Immigration service were more polite than the usual surly "jobsworths" who fill similar roles back home.Even the plane was on time.

Jean Simmons and Norman Halstead and their party managed to get an upgrade on the flight over -was it because they were wearing their Albacore team GBR teeshirts? No it was they knew someone of course.

We are staying at Laura Zang's B & B a couple of miles from the club, she is the widow of a farmer with a son farming the land around. Unfortunately we missed the peach harvest in early September but she has fed us some lovely fruit grown on her farm.

We went shopping in the nearest yacht chandlers where the prices are the same in dollars as they are in pounds back home - they didnt know about burgees tho!
