	USAA Albacore Classifieds - SOLD Just sold Albacore #5469 Built by Newport Boats. Hull is in great shape for its age. A few small repairs (dents and dings) have been made but they are only visible under close inspection. Sails are a few years old, and the head of the jib has had a small repair, but they are still in good condition and have several seasons left in them. All lines are new, new harken carbo blocks on the mainsheet as well. Rudder/Tiller in excellent condition. The previous owner broke the wood peice of the centerboard off that sticks up out of the trunk. I drilled a new hole for the centerboard line. It is completely usable in this condition, and would be an easy fix should you choose to do so. The rest of the centerboard is fine and it has good foil shape. Boat comes with a trailer... the trailer is a little old, but the tires/bearings are new and the trailer is trustworthy. Located in Kilmarnock, VA. This boat was second at the Albacore Nationals in 2004(?). Tapered aluminum mast, 2 Sets of Elvstrom/Sobstad Sails: The first are NEARLY NEW SAILS (used 5-6 times in summer 2006). Excellent condition and race-ready with all the latest speed features. Originally fitted out by Barney Harris and improved since. Four sets of sails, one brand new set - 2006 Sobstad high aspects have never been used, 2003 North low aspects in excellent shape and still fast, 1998 Norths and one other set. Boat has tuning markings for both types of sails. Auto jib stick (whisker pole), compass, good cover, mast top wind indicator, excellent Bandit trailer with custom made mast holder and two extra tires (never immersed). This boat is in need of some TLC. The hull is sound save for one hole above the seat tank which is easy to repair. The centerboard needs replacing or major rework. It comes with a tapered aluminum mast (internal halyards), Holt Allen rectangular boom, main, and jib, all in good condition. The wood rudder and tiller are in great shape, they just need a couple coats of varnish. The entire boat could use a fresh coat of paint. Some hardware is missing. All the wood parts of the boat have been painted last year and it has only been sailed in fresh water. The trailer is in good working condition, including wheels, tires, lights and custom made cradle for transporting the mast. The custom made tarp covers the entire boat including the mast on its cradle which is handy for long distance travel or storage outdoors. The boat is located in West Haven Connecticut. The boat is in good working condition with no work needed to put into the water. The boat has a new rudder and boom vang assembly along with new blocks for the main sheet. The boat has only been sailed in fresh water and I'm the third owner. The aluminum trailer is in good condition with a new axle, wheels, tires, bearings and lights. Several upgrades and repairs were made in 2001, including restoration of the bouyancy tanks, which was the subject of an Albacourior article that year (http://www.albacore.org/USA/members/repair/bouyancy_tanks.asp). Various other repairs and minor upgrades were also done at that time, including the restoration of the deck gel coat to its original bright yellow color. The trailer was also restored at that time and a new top cover purchased.
